In 2018, I came back to my home town Taitung, Taiwan. I took my second job as an insurance sales representative. Very confusing, totally different area. I know!

Welcome to my blog. Today I am gonna talk a little bit about my life in SKL. Let's go!
“You never know tomorrow and accident,which will come first.”
Planing your future is an issue everybody should learn and care. That's one of the reason I step into this industry. At the mean time, I can spend more time with my families.
Shin Kong Insurance Co,. Ltd. (SKL)
SKL is a local enterprise established for over 50 years. Its origin tracks back to international trading business in the nineties and further expanded to other industries. In finance and insurance industry, it is known as one of the lead in Taiwan with more than 10,000 employees in 2013.
Young Program

What I participated is a two-year program which aiming to train and assist potential executives. It included systematic courses and professional coaches. What I love more about it is we get to work with a bunch of classmates in different tasks and learning programs. Enhance cohesive force which bonding us becoming good friends.

My daily life in SKL

Work Shop
After back to my unit, we had further courses for newbies like me or other colleagues who just got in within 2 years.
Work shop would be held every Friday by manager or supervisors teaching us about new products or sharing actual experiences.

Section Seminar
Our section divided into four units. Section director value new recruits education training a lot. So the seminar gather all units new recruits together and would be held regularly for us to adsorb knowledge.
Unit Morning Meeting
Traditionally, morning meeting would take turn to be held by every employee. This is my favorite part where you can share any topic you want. To train speaking in front of 20-30 people on the stage.


Client Activities
In this work, getting in touch with clients is vital. Invite clients to the newest products forum,SK heath conference even our recruit orientation.

Client Meeting

Like I said, getting in touch is vital. Not only deal with every problem client face,but also treat them as friend with your heart. Value their opinion and find their needs. Ultimately, provide and customized project for them. Put them under a cover of the insurance protected umbrella when they under the risk nakedly. That's the true meaning of insurance.

Honor Feast
We have two large competition months annually in June and December. Competition month would be very intense with endless events and competitions between not just sections to sections but also divisions from different cities. The pressure would be massive, however, it always came with high performance and prize. One of the award was to get a ticket to the honor feast for who've reached the standard. It was an honor being recognized and participated the feast. Proudly saying, I had attended twice. I had a lot of good time.


Volunteer

What I love about this job is that the enterprise always show us it's better to give than received. We held different volunteer activities in neighborhood. We went to nursing home sending necessaries and SK lanterns annually.

In Taiwanese culture, we fold lanterns in certain festival. However, people in nursing home usually weren't able to fold lanterns themselves with deformed hand. It's unbelievable how joyful they were when we did such little thing for them. I am grateful for everything I have and by sharing the bless you will always gain more.
My first Seminar

After few months, I got this chance to held a small seminar. Talking about Young program and how you encourage yourself to step out the comfort zone. Include all the colleagues and clients, it was over 50 people. To be honest, I was nervous but it ended up well which led me to my second seminar for our four units which was over 100 people.
Like I mentioned before, grabbing opportunity needed courage and courage needed to be practiced. If I had never practice in our morning meeting;I had never volunteer to hold activities; I had never force myself to raise hand to answer questions in Table topic section. I would never have that chance.
To get closer to success, you need opportunities and courage. And courage needs to be practiced.
SK Young Sport Game
The fun part of Young program is that we have abundance of young recruits. We even have our sport game every two year. Company throw millions for us just to have fun. That was crazy.


Young program started from 2010. In 2018,the young members in Taiwan are over 1,000. We were divided into groups to complete. This was my team mate at the time. I always regarded myself as a sporty girl. I believed that I could complete in every sport event. Little did I know, that was not truth until I realize there was a thing in SK called "Riding Caterpillar"
Let't see what's riding caterpillar. Not jokingly,it was extremely heavy.
Regular training courses
At the end, I want to talk about the regular training courses that I love. We were taking that course every three months in capital, Taipei. Free flight to the head quarters, staying in a nice hotel and well worth inspiring courses. Most importantly, get to see my gang and have fun.
