Study Abroad( IELTS writing practice)

Topic

Nowadays, many university students choose to study overseas for part or all their course. Some people say this should be encouraged because it is beneficial for students and the universities they attend. Do you agree or disagree with this view?

My humble essay

Students nowadays have much more options of schools either in the nation of abroad since the rapid development of transportation and globalization. Consequently, parents are facing different problems whether to send children to a foreign country.

From my perspective, I am rooted for this idea profoundly. Several advantages are shown from the researches. Firstly, students are more independent and more open-minded compare to those in the comfort zone by getting more opportunity to take care of themselves in every aspects of life such as renting a house or doing a laundry. Moreover, experiencing different cultures and learning respect others make them more creative and caring. Secondly, studying with competitive schoolmates all over the world could bring higher vision to students to see bigger picture of their lives. The cost of getting a foreign country degree, however, would cost a fortune and might be a burden to some family. Some people turn out taking specific courses or one period time of exchanging program instead a four years study.

On the other hand, universities are willing to see the changes since the divers students would bring the benefit to the campus and current students by creating international and unlimited environment and boosting the level of education. The best and the brightest students around the world are gathered. Not only students are encouraged to appreciate the culture differences but also broaden their horizons. The Rise of competitive students will also bring good reputation and positive impacts to the universities. Although overseas students are welcome by most institutions, some issues are brought to the table such as foreign students policy and related laws. Schools would be responsible for students safety and visa problems. If schools are fully prepared, that would be a considerable problem.

In conclusion, from my view, I'll encourage people to study abroad especially university student or even take a gap year to go abroad. There are much more pros than cons. It is worthy to try as long as they can afford it.
