Telecommute (IELTS writing practice)

Hello guys, as you all know I am preparing for the IELTS exam, here is one of my practicing essay, welcome to give me suggestions, thanks!

Topic

The widespread use of the Internet had made it possible for employees to work from home while still being connected to their office. Some people believe working from home should be encouraged because it is beneficial for employees and companies. Do you agree or disagree?

My humble essay

With advanced technology nowadays, it is possible for people to telecommute with clients even just at home. Since more people can afford personal computers and electronic devices which offering access to internet at any time.

These changes have brought the working environment into a new chapter whereas people are arguing whether it is a good idea for both employees and companies.

From my perspective, there are some advantages and disadvantages. Firstly, being at home provides more comfortable and familiar atmosphere reducing the stress from the office. Secondly, without driving to work on a daily basis, times and gas would be saved and put into good use. Following up, the best part of working from home would be having more time with family and don't have to pick what to wear in the morning.

As from the employee's opinion, I think they would be happy to see staff working in a more efficient way by being connected and available to the customer and providing immediate responds and solutions which improving the service experience at the same time. It 's two birds with one stone!

Further more, if office no longer needed in the future, that would also be a great cut of the cost and bring the firm more profit. Personally, I would encourage people to work at home since there are so many pros than the cons.

However, there are some disadvantages I'd like to mention about. Working from home seems perfect but it also means a lot of distractions as well. Apparently, with so much convenient, employees can surf the internet wherever they want or go out for a brunch with friends in the middle of the time. Self-discipline and time control are valued the most for those who want to work from home. Besides that, team work! working from home is great if you don't want to just gossip in the office. However, in contrast, people have to be more independent without colleagues have their back!

All in all, decisions are made by individual. For me, personally, I prefer to stay at home than office and looking forward to see these developing changes.
